It is an indignity to a working cowboy not to be able to work from horseback. But a guy has to eat. There were "no riding jobs available" but he took the job anyway. Digging post holes can be backbreaking, and it may be one of the few times you'll see a cowboy with his shirt off, (which was my purpose for depicting a hand in this predicament.) Yes, the model does have legs that long. Maybe next season he'll move on to an outfit more suitable to his taste in labor.
